Pokimane Twitch Ban Duration

It’s been almost a day since Imane “Pokimane” Anys, the face of twitch was banned from the said streaming platform following a live DMCA takedown triggered from watching Avatar: The Last Airbender on her live stream.

Pokimane did react to her ban on her Twitter handle where she tweeted, “the fire nation attacked” after watching the copyright protected content along with her viewers despite being well aware of the fact that it could lead to a ban. In a follow-up, she further added that the ban will last for the next 48 hours and that she will make a return on Twitch on Monday for a “12-hour comeback stream”

Copyrights indeed protect original creative works of authorship, such as multimedia files and content of various kinds and that’s how the DMCA comes into effect if someone’s found guilty of using an unauthorized fragment on their streams.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is an Anime show available on paid streaming platforms across Netflix, Paramount+ and Amazon prime and can be strictly unlocked if you sign up for either of the platforms although Pokimane did stream an episode of the show to her viewers only to be taken down by a DMCA ban soon after.

The whole situation did come up as a shock as Pokimane alongside Tyler “Ninja” Blevins was commemorated by Twitch as one among their most popular streamers who too were unable to escape the DMCA sharks despite their charismatic influence.
