Will Pokimane Join Kick? CEO Says They’re Still Interested

Kick's CEO Ed Craven expresses continuous interest in signing Pokimane, even amid her recent criticism. Learn about the ongoing streaming platform war.

Streaming platforms have been intensely battling for dominance, and Kick is making notable strides. Despite being a new entrant, Kick has managed to sign industry heavyweights, including xQc and Amouranth, as part of its ambitious quest to surpass Twitch.

Notably, Kick has been expressing a strong interest in signing Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys, a popular Moroccan-Canadian streamer. Ed Craven, Kick’s CEO, recently disclosed the platform’s keenness to work with Pokimane, even in the face of her public criticism1.

Craven, in an interview with Jake Lucky, revealed that Kick has been genuine supporters of Pokimane’s content, and she was a top contender in their list of potential signees. He stated, “We really wanted to work with Pokimane. That was a name we discussed early on, but I don’t think she wants to work with us actually. So, we’ll see”.

Despite Pokimane’s stern stance, where she claimed she would never sign with Kick even for a $100M deal, citing it would “compromise her morals and ethics,” Kick remains hopeful. They aim to persuade her to reconsider their offer, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to their plan.

While Pokimane’s criticism of Kick has escalated, even sparking a debate with xQc over her supposed “morals,” Craven remains open to signing her. He stated that Kick will “see if that changes,” further emphasizing how the team is “big fans” of hers.

Although it seems unlikely at present that Pokimane will sign with Kick, the platform continues to generate buzz. Reports suggest that Dr Disrespect, the infamous Twitch star, is in talks with Kick. His potential signing could cause a significant stir in the streaming world, potentially overshadowing the current Pokimane saga. Dr Disrespect is rumored to be negotiating a deal worth half of xQc’s, a staggering $50M.

The streaming wars continue to heat up with Kick’s aggressive signing tactics. As the platform remains optimistic about signing Pokimane, the world watches closely. Will she reconsider her decision, or will Kick need to look elsewhere to bolster their star-studded lineup? Only time will tell.
