Malaysian Asia Pacific University is offering certification courses in DotA 2

Malaysia’s Asia Pacific University is now offering students a chance to enroll in DotA 2 courses. The course in question has the title as “APU Esports Malaysia Academy Skills Certificate in Defense of the Ancients 2.”

The agenda is to teach the students the fundamental mechanism of DotA 2. The certificate also targets to educate students about Esports and its living standard through the course.

The 12-week long course looks to establish knowledge for the students about communication and teamwork. In a way, the students will learn how to work as a team, which will help the students in their future endeavors as visioned by APU. Malaysia is one of those rising countries to witness an enormous rise in competitive gaming over the past few years. The country’s frontrunners in Esports such as Mushi and YamateH have a history in esports to flaunt about.

The rise in Esports have indeed been uplifted in the recent years, and activities such as these can peak the competitive gaming industry to newer heights.

The criteria for enrollment in APU is prominently standard. Students with over 3,000 MMR are subject to entering into the course.

According to Rinie Ramli, General Secretary of eSM, students that enroll in this academy will have access to semester-long courses on their desired gaming field.

Those with big dreams on making it in the competitive gaming scene can sign up for courses carried out by professional gamers themselves on the basics needed within four games. The games are FIFA Online, Counter-Strike, Dota 2 and League of Legends. Note to the people designing the courses—maybe add Overwatch too?

There will also be courses for those planning on taking up the role of team managers and shout casters as well.

The courses are structured into three levels, Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. All of which are a minimum of 12-weeks. Quite convincingly Malaysia also as an independent ministry to look after Esports and its avenues.
